I dont think any manifacturer has annouced one yet.
SLI as it was before isnt posible anymore.
Now you have to connect 2 Cards via NvLink and the Bridge does Cost 80 bucks...

At 1080P res, at 6700K clock speeds, perhaps a little...

If the 6700K is clocked at 4.8 GHz (equaling the 7700K at the same clocks), much less so, as 8 threads still do VERY well in gaming alone, i.e., with no streaming

Depends on the game. At 1440p it should get pretty close to fully utilizing the GPU in most games. In very cpu heavy titles you may see some CPU bottlenecking, however it wont be severe. That system should be capable of playing any game at very reasonable framerates 1440p max settings.

I'm not too hardware-savvy, so I appreciate your input. I preordered an RTX 2080 Ti today. My rig currently has a GTX 1080, i7 7700K, 32 GB RAM, Evo 960 M.2, and a WiFi card. Will a 750W PSU be enough (without overclocking), or will I need something higher? I don't plan on overclocking it. Thanks!

The key is your psu.
Your current GTX1080ti normally needs a 6 and a 8 pin pcie power connector.
The RTX2080ti cards I have seen need two 8 pin connectors or 75w more power.
If you have a quality psu in the 650-750w range, you should be ok.

Yesterday the new RTX series of GPU's by Nvidia got announced and since they're "The biggest leap in performance" they have done so far, i am planning on getting the 2080 Ti in the near future. I currently have an i7 8700k, 32GB RAM, and an RM 850x PSU. I know that the RAM will be fine and i am guessing the PSU will also be fine, but i do not know if the i7 8700k will Bottleneck the RTX 2080 Ti.

The word bottleneck is used way too much and everything is a bottleneck. It's a stupid word people band about without really caring.

No, your system will NOT bottleneck the new card.

Chances are, an old i7 4790k will not bottleneck the card as well.

Also the card will be a bit pointless if you only play 1080p, unless that ray tracing is that important to you.

As the title says I have the new rtx 2080 ti and im thinking that im suffering of bottleneck with mi i7 6700k but im not an expert in hardware so ill expose my basic diagnostic:

(NOTE: sorry for my english)

Playing games like BF1, Ghost Recon Wildlands, etc the CPU is about 70% usage and the GPU is about 60-70% usage. In some videos I have seen that they have CPU with an usage about 20% and GPU about 100%. That's what made me doubt.

I had the intention of purchase a new CPU (i7 8700k) when i bought the rtx2080ti but im saving money, that 2080ti has been painful.

No it won't and yes it does at the same time!
In general:
Games are not written the same. Some are heavier on the cpu side, while others not.
I7 6700k should not be a bottleneck for RTX2080ti on the majority of games but it is on some small numbers of new proc heavy AAA games.
The bottleneck is however not something to be worried about for now, especially for 60hz gaming.
From the bottleneck point of view, I would get 2080ti and still keep the I7 6700k,

Now, you game on 2560x1080 60hz, 2080ti is waaaay an overkill.
The 1080ti or 2080 (no ti) should be already more than enough. Even, the coming 2070 (according to my crystal ball) or the normal 1080 should be already good.
But hey, you have that RTX2080ti already.

I have just seen an RTX 2080 on my country local amazon for about 60% of current retail price. The card is an MSI and is being sold as second hand by a 3rd party dealer. Anywhere else I would totally ignore this ad, but it is on Amazon - is this safe and legit do you think?

It says item page that Amazons returns policy will guarantee the 30 day return policy, but I really don't know whether to trust this. I can see a lot of legitimate reasons why maybe someone could be selling off cards cheaply straight away... purchased or acquired for web or youtube review. Like I said, if it wasn't on amazon I wouldn't give it the time of day, but if this is legit it is probably the one chance I have to get an RTX atm.

I generally believe the adage, if its too good to be true, this does kind of seem it.. the other thing which is a little odd maybe is this was posted on the 31st July, so has been up for a while. The seller claims to have 8 in stock when I add to basket.

What should i do?! Help!!

From what I can tell my EVGA RTX 2080Ti is not performing as well as it should. Seeing benchmarks and fps counts online, I was expecting it to do a lot better than I'm seeing.

(All oh highest settings)
DeusEx Mankind Divided - 30-40 fps
Overwatch - 100 -120 fps
Diablo 3 - 120 - 140 fps
Assassin's Creed Origins - 110 -120 fps

Seing that I play on 1080p, I was hoping for a rock solid 144 fps on these titles.

My specs:

i7 4790K @4GHz + Corsair H110iGTX
AsRock Fatal1ty Killer Z97
4 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DRR3 @ 2166 MHz
EVGA RTX 2080Ti @ stock settings
All running from Samsung Evo 850 SSDs.
Seasonic 850W M12ii evo

Main display is a Samsung 24" 144Hz panel @ 1080p.

I have two additional monitors but only run games on th 144Hz one.
I was thinking that the mobo+cpu would be a bottleneck, but looking at avg CPU utilisation, it's staying under 50% at all times.

I have a fresh install of Windows 10.
Any ideas?

Well in Assassins youre already getting what is expected of the 2080Ti, that's 15~20 fps more compared to Techspot's 1080Ti benchmarks so we know from that your 2080Ti is performing as it should at least with this game.

As for DeusEx though that is extremely low (40fps), that to me is not a CPU problem but driver or game setting, something the game isn't liking be it in-game setting not agreeing with current driver or Geforce Experience is not optimising the game right / using a buggy setting introduced by Nvidia drivers, just wont know for sure until you look around a bit. Are you using Geforce Experience btw?

Can see 1440p Deus is getting close to 150fps.

Techspot's benchmarks at the time were using 411.51 as mentioned on the first page so maybe try that.

As with new tech can assume to expect bugs.

Hi,

I'm stuck on a gtx 980 and willing to pay the piper on the exorbitant prices for the upcoming rtx cards. My question is, should I get the normal or ti version? Based on my specs as listed below.

Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core (Can OC)
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
MSI X99S GAMING 9 AC EATX LGA2011-3 MOBO
Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2800
Corsair Platinum 860W ATX12V / EPS12V (Modular PSU)

Due to being in Europe they're extra pricey. And the 2080 is at 1000€ while 2080ti is around 1400€. Ideally I'd stick to the 2080 - but would it be worth going beyond my means for the 2080ti? I'm thinking pay 400 more and make the card last longer and save money that way by holding off upgrades for when rtx & 4k does become a thing. As for what I want to use it for; I'd be happy with 1080p but wouldn't mind some 4k gaming at 60fps either. Though I'd like to make the choice on what's best based around the rest of my specs.

Would love some help in deciding!

I'm buying the new Nvidia RTX 2080 card tomorrow. I have a 5 years old laptop, so an upgrade is really opportune right now. However, I'm a little bit concerned about the CPU. Initially, I was eyeballing with the i5-8600, but after conducting some more thinking, I'm now considering a more powerful one. The i7-8700 (NON-k) seems appealing. Although, for that money, I could grab a Ryzen 2700x. I'm gonna use my rig for 3D modeling (Maya, Zbrush), texturing (Substance Painter), Rendering (Keyshot, Unreal Engine, Marmoset) and occasionally for gaming on 4K res.
So, I'm just interested in your opinion, if that AMD or i7 Intel was a great fit for the RTX 2080 (NON ti) or not. I couldn't have found any useful info on the internet (I guess the card is too new), so every bit of info is highly appreciated!

Gaming at 4k resolutions neither would be a bottleneck. Gaming at 1080p resolutions the i7 8700 would be less of a bottleneck.

Hey, I'm planning on ordering a RTX 2080 Founders Edition card and was I wondering if the new card could bottleneck and/or have compatibility issues with my current hardware, which I bought about 3 years ago and this is the first major upgrade I'm planning to do. So this is my current setup:

i7-4790k
MSI GTX 970
MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR3 RAM
Antec VP650P power supply

So can I just swap out the 970 for the 2080 and be good to go? Will the 4th gen processor and DDR3 RAM present me some level of bottlenecking? Is the 650 watt power supply good enough or will I need to upgrade to a 750 w one?

Note that I will be playing on a 1920x1080 monitor with a 60 hz refresh rate so I'm not looking for 144 hz or 4K resolutions or anything like that...although I'm not ruling out a possible upgrade to a 1440p monitor in future. Some might say 2080 might be overkill for a 1080p 60fps experience but I want to do this as a measure of future-proofing my system, in case I find the need or money that would enable to do a complete system upgrade sometime in future with a 8th or 9th gen CPU and DDR4.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A 4790K might technically limit max frame rates a little, but should still be comparable in performance to an i5-8400, which performs about the same. About the only place you would see a performance impact from a processor upgrade in today's games would be on a high refresh rate screen, and even there the differences wouldn't likely be too noticeable. The CPU performance won't matter much when the monitor can only display 60 frames per second, and the monitor would be more of a limitation to the card than anything.

If you do go with a card of that performance level, a monitor upgrade would probably provide more benefit and likely be less expensive than a CPU/Motherboard/RAM upgrade to anything that would be faster. And unless you are going with a high refresh rate screen, or are live-streaming your gameplay, you might not benefit much from a new processor for some time still.

In any case, there are still a few days before reviews of the 2080 are out, so it's difficult to accurately judge how worthwhile the card might be compared to something like a 1080 Ti at this time.

Hey, here is my dilemma, I need a new gamer pc, my old one is dead. I have paid a local business for building it.

I have see the RTX launch but I'm not sold, so I went with the GTX 1080 ti instead. It's cheaper and I could get it right away. It has also been well test and supported.

I ordered it, and then the guy calls me and tells me the GTX 1080 ti won't be in stock before the 14th. He then asked me if I wouldn't rather have the
"Asus Dual RTX 2080 8GB", by model.

He offered it for the same price(even that it's a bit more expensive), and since the release date and restocking date are close together. I choose the new generation.

I have heard many online saying we should wait to see reviews or benchmarks before buying it. But I really wondered what other people would do in my place. After all it's not too late to change the order.

I guess my question is, what would you do?

First, one thing i notice was the term "dual" in asus. that dual cooler is pretty bad, and you might want to do something about it.

performance wise, I don't think there is going to be too much difference, between 1080ti and 2080. that's what people are basically guessing, and it's reasonable to say that this is the worst case scenario. (1080ti = 2080).

any chance that rtx 2080 massively improves fps over the 1080ti (2080 > 1080ti). that's an bonus.

since you are paying the same for the latest tech. i think it's worth a try.
