If they are the same price the 1070. If the 1070 is 450 and the 980ti is say 350 get the 980ti. I have a friend that just got a evga gtx 980ti classified for 0 if you can find that take it.

Is the 1070ti FE worth it for more than the 1070 FE at 9 MSRP?

Well as a general answer not knowing the rest of your specs, yes I would say it's worth 50 dollars more. The 1070 ti is pretty much on par with a 1080.

By best, I mean maximum performance without harming it. Mine is an ASUS CERBERUS and I have MSI Afterburner

Hi, you have to try really hard to damage newer GPUs with software OC.

Open MSI Afterburner, max your power limit, increase your core clock 50+ at a time while testing with UNIGINE Valley or Heaven benchmark at Ultra till artifacts (weird lines and colors) happen or your driver crashes. Then fine tune it by increasing 10 at a time from your previous clock. Do the same for Memory, then save your profile. Don't check apply overclocking at startup.
Example Core clock: +50 > +100 > +150 > crash > +110 > +120 > ....

Keep your temps below 85c, if you go over it or stay near it., consider installing a fan on your case near the GPU.

Hi,
Is the GTX 1080 worth buying today?
I have seen it selling for 50$ more than the GTX 1070 Ti.

Thanks.

It's larger than that.

Depends on who did the review and what GTX 1080 they compared against... MOST are using reference GTX 1080 cards... The Partner cards are MUCH faster.

Hi. Should i get a Gtx 1070 ti when it come out or a gtx 1080. 1070 ti Cheaper and newer so i want it but 1080 is very good too so what should i get?

R
radiatorspiffy 4 months ago
well newer=better doesn't really apply here. Judging by the unconfirmed reports it's the same GPU (GP104) it's built on the same fab, identical chip size and power requirements. The 1070ti appears to be just a cut down 1080, with more CUDA cores and higher clocks than the regular 1070.

The 1080 will still perform better. End of.

Should i get a gtx 1070 or gtx 980ti? I can get the latter for about 70$ less than 1070. I've seen it being head to head with gtx 1070 ti after OC.

Then go for the 980ti. It is still quite powerful and should handle that resolution pretty well.

AFAIK, it should not bottleneck considerably. There will always be a bottleneck but since you have OC'ed it, it should give some good performance.

While playing (i limit fps to 144) gpu temp is 60-66 degrees \
but since it is a newer card and fans dont spin on idle temp is like 44-49 sometimes it goes to 54
so is this ok or no?

Look at the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GPU Temperature Comparison chart here and you'll see that your temperatures are completely normal:

Titan Fall 2, Rise of Tomb Raider, I'm sure others will freeze a few seconds then unfreeze. I've looked at Afterburner and see the GPU drop, but have no idea how to figure out the cause.

HWMonitor can do it, but it's not 'real-time' (ie you have to minimize to see it). MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner with the OSD set to show CPU/RAM/VRAM/GPU usage would be my suggestion.

Hello. I'm planning to upgrade from my GTX 1050 Ti to a 1060 6GB. But then i found online a bunch of used 1070 Ti for almost the same price as retail 1060. Should i upgrade to a 1070 Ti? Is it overkill for 1080p 60Hz?

1070ti for 1080p 60Hz.
It is an overkill for now but it is not a bad pick if you want a bit of a future proofing.
If the price of an 1070ti is almost the same as 1060 6GB, I would grab 1070ti without even asking.

I’m getting my first gaming pc and I’m stuck between the GTX 1070 SC and the GTX 1070 ti Strix. The 1070 TI Strix is only 37 dollars more than the 1070. Is it worth it? Or should I just save those 37 bucks and upgrade another part of my PC?

My 1070ti is OC'd to be better than even some 1080's that are OC'd. 1070ti all day, especially for only 37 dollars more.

Getting a 1070ti is the smarter choice in this scenario, performance degradation is present in the 1080 mini card that you want the 1070ti actually has a good amount of overclocking room but at the end of the day it is up to you .

What do you think about this guys? Will the R5 bottleneck the 1070 Ti too much or is it fine? Thanks

will give you 100+ FPS in most games for 1080p or 1440p, good setup Make sure you overclock it to ~3.8GHz. For 1440p, overclock your GPU to stock 1080 level with MSI afterburner.

Hi guys, i have a Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce OC, i wanted downgrade to ROG STRIX GTX 1070 ti, if i downgrade will i dissapointed very much?
I don't do hard gaming, i enjoy on 1440p, not so care about fps but demand 60fps+.
**I really wanted a strix card, they look gorgeous

The ROG strix gtx 1070 ti can get quite close to the performance of your gtx 1080 when overclocked but it will still be a noticeable downgrade. It certainly won't be able to achieve 1440p 60fps at ultra settings in all games.

Whether you will be disappointed or not will depend on whether you'll spend more time looking at that "gorgeous card" or whether you're actually going to game on it.

Hi, i have a GTX 970, i want something to perform better but i also do not want to spend 0 on a graphics card, i can get a 980ti for about 0-0 currently. I have looked up numerous videos and they are pretty comparable FPS wise in most games i play. Should i just get a 980 Ti for the price?

The 980 Ti might be the better option for the price in your case. Check out a few "GTX 980 Ti vs GTX 1070" benchmark videos online and see what you think. I'm assuming the 980 Ti that you're looking at is in good condition and hasn't been carelessly OC'ed.

How future proof is a GTX 1070 Ti at 1080p Max settings? Would I be able to get max setting for least 2-4 years and then another one or two in high or so? I’m pairing this Up with a i5 8400 and 2666Mhz 16 GB ram. Trying to get the best for my buck. Thank you! I know down the line CPU will need to be upgraded.

The 1000 series GPUs are already 2 years old.
I highly doubt you will get max settings in 4 years from now.
That's a total of 6 years since the GPU launched.

1 or 2 years on max settings maybe yes. It all depends on the game really.
Used to have a GTX 770 (launched in 2013) and it couldn't run Crysis 3 at 60FPS on max settings.
Neither could it run Wolfenstein The New Order on max settings.
Both are games from 2013-2014.

The best for your buck would be to wait for the new Nvidia GPUs.

I will be upgrading from my 4690k to a Coffee Lake i7/i5 once it gets released. I'm also looking into adding another 1070, or sell my current 1070 and get a 1080 Ti Sadly, my monitor is only 1080p @60hz. I dont have extra cash to buy a better monitor. If ever I SLI 1070s or buy the 1080 Ti, should I just use DSR so it wont be overkill?

GTX 1080Ti...one GTX 1080Ti is as powerful as 2 GTX 1070s when SLI is supported. When SLI isn't supported things get worse for the GTX 1070s. Just sell your GTX 1070 and get the GTX 1080Ti and don't look back. Though it may be worth waiting till next year as volta is launching soon.

Greetings everyone, I'm having trouble knowing which GPU would be best suited for me and need help deciding.

My goal is to play online based shooters like Overwatch, Fortnite etc on an average of 240 FPS (with low graphic settings if needed) Planning to get a 240 hz monitor soon.
I game on 1080p monitor and my cpu is intel i7 7000k.

Nvidia's current GPUs are nearly 2 years old at this point. The GTX 1080 came out in May of 2016, and while the 1070 Ti and 1080 Ti are both somewhat newer, they're all based on the same basic architecture. The same goes for AMD's low to mid-range cards, which are currently just refreshes of what they launched in mid-2016. I would expect both Nvidia and AMD to launch new cards this year, and probably by summer, if cryptocurrency mining doesn't mess with their schedule in some way. As for mining, it's pretty much doubled GPU prices from what they should be, so it's not exactly a great time to be buying graphics cards.

What's the difference? The 1070Ti is only more, but the core clock is more and the boost clock is less. Can someone explain this to me?

http://

I do not want to spend any more then this, would you recommend a different card anyways? Thanks again!

1070 ti has lower clocks, because NVidia decided that manufacturers can't make factory OC on them. But you can do it. Overall, 1070ti is always better then same model of 1070, because it has more CUDA cores - and if you OC it, it goes into 1080 territory.

hi
we all know that PCIe slot provides a maximum of 75w, speaking of the Gtx 1070ti or 1080ti which both can draw more than 250w to 300w, how does this power delivery work?
doest it always take the max 75w from the PCIe and get the rest from the 6-8pin connector ? or just pull everything from the PSU?
if yes, isnt it dangerous to draw the max power from the PCIe slot all the time for more than 3 years ?

Hello, currently i am looking to buy a gtx 1070 ti (the 1080 is a lot more expensive) and the msi duke model (0 USD), along with the zotac amp dual fan (0 USD) are around -100 USD cheapers than the rest where i live. I was wondering if im losing a lot by going with this cheaper models or if they are good.

Atm im going for the msi duke, does anyone have any experience with it? is it loud?

its not like you are losing anythhing its just better GPU like Asus Strix or MSI Titanium Gaming has better Cooler so the GPu stays more cool and can be overclocked more and believe me 1070ti really heats up
go for the duke for better cooling

I am looking to get a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, but I am confused by all the types.

What one would you guys recomend?

Right now I am looking at the "EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti SC Black Edition" as it seems to have godo ratings.

However, "ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AMP Extreme" has 3 fans, one more than the EVGA, so it could be better cooling.

What would you guys recomend?

All the GTX 1070Ti come pre set at the same speed. If you are looking at overclocking the card yourself then look at one of the cards with custom coolers. I know the EVGA comes with some software that will overclock for you. Not sure if the Zotac comes with software as well.

EVGA is usually more of a better brand name.

I found a website called top-mining-shop.com that has an Asus GTX 1070 Ti Cerberus for 9. Everything else seems reasonably priced though. It has 3 reviews which 2 of them are copied from Amazon reviews with the same username. If it’s too good to be true, it probably isn’t. But I wanted to see what you guys thought. This is the first pc I’m building and I’m looking for a gtx 1070/ti for below 0 but that’s really impossible given the inflation and such. Thank you!

1. Website called top mining shop....
2. 1070ti for bucks over retail... that's what the aftermarket cards USUALLY go for compared to the reference, but prices now... too good to be true.
3. Nothing unusual about coping reviews from other sites, but when most of the reviews are copies, and from the SAME username - red flag.
