NVIDIA ’s xx70 cards have always been defined by mid-range prices with performance that knocks on the door of high-end graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Pascal graphics card inside the GTX 1070 Ti, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend. Spec for spec, this GTX 1070 Ti leapfrogs its direct predecessor, the GTX 970, by boasting 2 % more fps.

The GTX 1070 Ti has 8 GB RAM compared to the GTX 970 's 4 GB video memory. In our synthetic benchmarks, the GTX 1070 Ti blows past the GTX 970 and, amazingly, even the GTX 980 as well.

Fortunately, gaming performance was quite impressive. The GTX 1070 Ti consistently delivers great frame rate increases over the GTX 970 and it really justifies an upgrade. For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Borderlands 3, Anthem, Just Cause 4, Gears of War 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 64 fps to 84 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 76 fps.

For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Monster Hunter: World, Final Fantasy XV, GreedFall, Hitman 2, F1 2019 at 61 fps to 72 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 66 fps.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti ... Our Verdict. The Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti surprises and impresses us with performance numbers almost parallel with the Nvidia GTX 1080 at an entirely reasonable price.
We went into this review thinking that the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti was a calculated move by Nvidia to make the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 look less appealing in the 0 to 0 market.
