À 1440p, GTX 980 peut frapper 50-60 fps sur à peu près tout à ultra, juste sans anticrénelage, moins d'occlusion ambiante et tourné vers le bas des ombres. Cette combinaison entre GTX 980 et AMD Athlon 5200 Dual-Core va causer des goulots d'étranglement graves dans de nombreux jeux et causer des pertes fps graves. Avec la 4096 RAM MB actuelle, GTX 980 le peut avoir très peu de goulots d'étranglement liés à la mémoire dans les jeux plus modernes.

Le GTX 980 dispose de 4 Go de RAM par rapport à la mémoire vidéo GTX 780 de 3 GB. Malheureusement, les performances de jeu n'étaient pas aussi impressionnantes.
