Our Verdict: The price of TITAN Xp is ridiculous. With some tuning, the TITAN Xp makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than GTX 1070 by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. For everyone else, especially those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the GTX 1070 could be the better value choice in the short term. The TITAN Xp is faster by 41% for 1440p gaming. However, GTX 1070 is still capable of producing more than 60 frames per second. For 1080p games, upgrading from GTX 1070 to TITAN Xp is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. In addition, taking into account the huge price difference between the two, the GTX 1070 is a winner. The price/performance ratio is much better for GTX 1070 .

GTX 1070 vs TITAN Xp with i7-6700K vs i7-7700K at 1440p and ultra vs ultra settings
GTX 1070 vs TITAN Xp with i7-6700K vs i7-7700K at 4K and ultra vs ultra settings

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / i7-6700K

It is clear that the GTX 1070 is a significantly more capable high-end card that can play AAA titles at 1080p/1440p with 50-60 frames per second. In terms of memory, the GTX 1070 's 8192 MB RAM is more than enough for modern games and should not cause any bottlenecks. In short the performance is exceptional, there's no question that this is one of the most powerful single GPU out there in 2016 .

NVIDIA TITAN Xp / i7-7700K

In terms of cost, pricing clearly is a genuine issue here and the price of TITAN Xp is simply ridiculous. For those on 1080p or even 1440p monitors, the TITAN Xp is very expensive and there are better value choices in the short term. It is worth noting that the TITAN Xp is a very power hungry card and requires a decent power supply unit. In terms of memory, the TITAN Xp 's 12288 MB RAM is more than enough for modern games and should not cause any bottlenecks. 4K gaming is joyous on this TITAN Xp , and with a little tweaking to your AA settings, it'd be hard to imagine a title not capable of 60 fps on average.
