Our Verdict: At 1440p, GTX 1060 6GB can hit 50-60 frames per second on pretty much everything at ultra, just without antialiasing, less ambient occlusion and turned down shadows. Whereas RTX 2080 can hit 50-60 frames per second at maximum settings. With some tuning, the RTX 2080 makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than GTX 1060 6GB by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. The RTX 2080 is faster by 115% for 1440p gaming. For 1080p games, upgrading from GTX 1060 6GB to RTX 2080 is not worth it if targeting 60 frames per second. In addition, taking into account the huge price difference between the two, the GTX 1060 6GB is a winner. The price/performance ratio is much better for GTX 1060 6GB .
