Our Verdict: With some tuning, the Radeon VII makes the most sense for gamers with 4K monitors and it is better than GTX 550 Ti by a margin. Though serious gamers hardly play at 4k. The Radeon VII is faster by 930% for 1440p gaming. The price/performance ratio is much better for Radeon VII .

AMD Radeon VII

For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Metro Exodus, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Borderlands 3, Anthem, Need For Speed: Heat at 68 fps to 91 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 79 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Anthem, Final Fantasy XV, Gears of War 5, Need For Speed: Heat, Just Cause 4 at 69 fps to 75 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 71 fps.

For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Forza Horizon 4, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Battlefield V, Fallout 76, World War Z at 64 fps to 68 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 66 fps.

On the other hand, the GTX 550 Ti is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 149. NVIDIA ’s xx50 cards have always been defined by budget prices with performance that knocks on the door of entry-level graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Fermi 2.0 graphics card inside the GTX 550 Ti, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend.
