RX 570 vs RX 580 with i7-7700K vs i7-7700K at 4K and ultra vs ultra settings

AMD Radeon RX 570 / i7-7700K

It appears that the RX 570 is a more capable mid-range card that can play AAA titles at 1080p with 60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is excellent for RX 570 against the competition in budget mid-range cards. With current 4096 MB RAM, the RX 570 can have very few memory-related bottlenecks in more modern games.

AMD Radeon RX 580 / i7-7700K

At 1440p, RX 580 can hit 50-60 fps on pretty much everything at ultra, just without antialiasing, less ambient occlusion and turned down shadows. It is clear that the RX 580 is a significantly more capable high-end card that can play AAA titles at 1080p/1440p with 50-60 frames per second. The price/performance ratio is excellent for RX 580 against the competition in budget mid-range cards. In terms of memory, the RX 580 's 8192 MB RAM is more than enough for modern games and should not cause any bottlenecks.

Cristiano_9 It depends. If you already own a RX 480, then a RX 580 would be a lateral upgrade. But if you're on a R9 3xx series, then it's worth purchasing. PC Perspective's Ryan Shrout wrote an interesting review: https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Radeon-RX-580-8GB-Review-Polaris-Populism

They are more sold out because people are using them for mining than because of their gaming performance.

Agree, 580. Unless your into modding games with lots of textures the extra 4gb on the 570 is pointless, its more marketing than a useful feature.

I am planning to buy a gpu Rx570gb. If I overclock RX570 then will I get performance near to Rx580.

Not a chance. There's a lot more to the cards than just processor and memory clocks. The 570 has less cores, less compute units, smaller cooling ability, lower clocks on memory and processor, same pcie buss, but smaller bandwidth. You could jack the speeds through the roof, but at the end of the day, the 580 simply has more horsepower.

Does anyone have any information on the subject. This mining madness is driving me crazy. I'd like to get Sapphire Radeon RX 570 NITRO+ 4GB, but 570/580 have vanished from all stores worldwide.

RX570 8GB - 0
RX570 4GB - 0

UPDATE:
RX 580 4GB - 0 I am liking the AMD cards more, so I think this RX 580 4GB is best for me.

Well the 570's should be off the table, why get something less.

As for the 580 vs 1060,

https://www.techspot.com/review/1393-radeon-rx-580-vs-geforce-gtx-1060/

They both trade blow and around the same FPS in all the benchmarks, but the 1060 is like 70w less power.

I came across more and more threads that the amd rx 570 is 100 dollars more expensive than the gtx 1050 TI.
Its silly a rx 570 is even more expensive than a gtx 1060 6gb.

Can someone give more info on whats going on?

Hi I’m currently building a new gaming pc and I was looking at graphics cards, I had narrowed it down to either a brand new Rx 570 with 8gb memory or a used Rx 580 with 4gb memory. I’m only going to be playing at 1080p at high to max settings. Which card should I get any input is helpful. The 570 is about 0 (cad) and the 580 is 0 (cad)

Given how much cheaper the Rx 580 is and that it is faster. I’d take the 580.

While the 570 has more VRAM. I’m of the opinion that in general. Settings which make use of more than 4GB will run at too low an FPS.

I'm under the assumption that the RX 570 should be priced at 0 and the RX 580 4 GB at 0 or so. I'm basing this guess on the prices that I previously witness for the RX 470 / 480 4 GB. But currently I don't see a huge supply of the RX 570's on neither NewEgg or Amazon. The RX 580 4 GB models are in supply but are priced closer to 0.

What's going on?

I think the title pretty much says it all. Extra information you may need: I mostly play games (usually quite demanding ones like GTAV, BF1, FC Primal, GR Wildlands, SE4 etc). I sometimes do video or image editing, I also often multitask (2 browsers with 20-40 tabs open in each) -don't think that's anything to do with the graphics card, but you know, just in case. Oh and I'm talking mainly about the Sapphire Nitro+ variants of both cards (the RX 570 costs about 20 euros more).

well it's somewhat of a confusing choice...

on one hand, the Vram on the 570 looks real tempting, but on the other hand, the performance of the 580 is tempting as well.

I would suggest that you take the RX580-4gb from your selection. The 570-8GB would seem like a good choice, seeing current demands from games, but it's also a slower GPU, so it won't exactly benefit from the extra vram in the way that you would think it would. The 580 will perform much better.

This all also depends on the rest of your system. But it's still more of a clear choice, 4gb vram is quite enough to game and at this point the performance beats the 8gb vram.

I'm confused in buying between these two cards since the performance gap in stock settings are minimal
RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB
RX 580 (Low end 199$) CARD 4GB
Referred Benchmarks:
RX 580 GIGABYTE 4GB vs RX 570 Nitro+ 4GB: http://
RX 480 8GB GIGABYTE G1 vs RX 570 Nitro+ 4GB: http://
So what Gpu should i pick the lower end RX 580 4GB or get the Nitro+ RX 570.

It should be fine in most games, the i7 is quite an old generation now but should still be very capable of most modern games, some CPU intensive ones it would probably be the minor bottleneck but i doubt it would completely hold back a RX 570 or RX 580. The RX 580 should do fine with it and hence so would the weaker RX 570. So combination should be solid, i'd expect light bottlenecking in modern CPU intensive games but other than that it should be a good pairing. Hope this helps

Im building a new "gaming rig", at the moment i have the mobo, cpu, psu, memory, case... So I only need a gpu.

In my country Rx 400 series its almost sold out, and the prices are really high. And rx 500 series start to re-stock in some retailers.

I found Rx 570 4gb Nitro+ for 192€, I could say its cheap in my country. And rx 580 8gb Nitro+ cost 263€.

My Cpu its a G4560, and the Psu its Cooler Master G750M. I know that aren't the best quality but were a real bargain here in Spain.

With this information, which should I buy rx 570 or rx 580?

Greets! and thanks!

Edit: typo.

The RX 580 8GB is worth it only if you can afford it. The 570 isn't bad, but it's a bit slower. However, if you are doing simple gaming, the 570 will be fine. However, when you want to upgrade your CPU, you wouldn't have to worry about your GPU.

There shouldn't be a bottlenecking whatsoever with the Kaby Lake CPU.

So i have 3 cases 2 of them i started having problem with them regarding installing the rx570/580 driver.
i am using windows 10 on both cases whenever i try install the driver i get general error 1603 and when i check in device manager for the gpu it list them as Microsoft basic driver i tried updating driver from there manually i got error
when i installed gpu in my main case that has already AMD driver installed before hand the pc read the card n everything is fine the cards work but only on any pc that has amd driver installed before hand but for clean install the AMD driver either dont read the cards as AMD cards or i get general error 1603

Disable automatic driver updates. Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Hardware tab -> Device Installation Settings -> change to "No, let me choose what to do."

Boot into safe mode with Display Driver Uninstaller, clear out all GPU drivers, boot into normal Windows, and then installing the newest display driver from AMD. GPU drivers should only ever be installed using the Radeon install program.

Hello everyone,
I'm looking to help my friend get an affordable gpu upgrade for him by selling him my R9 380 4gb Sapphire Nitro edition for 0-0 USD. He basically has to keep his costs under 0 and is really happy with me offering him my current gpu.

As a replacement I'm looking to the new Rx 500 series cards or possibly it's close performing predecessor the Rx 400 series. I'm interested in the Rx 470 and 570 mostly. Particularly with how cheap they can become. I figure I can keep my costs down in my upgrade if I go with these cards.

I know the Rx 480 is a great performer, but I want to know if I should consider a 470/570 if I can snag one for a good price. Currently I'm seeing the 570 about USD cheaper than the 580 and the story is mostly the same for the 400 series variants.

I'm wondering if the Rx 470/570 are worth considering as a potentially better price to performance card, or if the Rx 480/580 are just superior in both performance and price to performance.

Sorry. I don't know why I thought you had a 390 instead of a 380. In that case it will be a more noticeable upgrade. I personally would go with a 480 or 580. The 580 is obviously the best card out of the ones you mentioned but it's going to be tough to find it at a good price until stock catches up with demand.

thinking about upgrading my 5 month:
- ryzen 1600
- msi gtx 1050 gaming X
to an RX 570 or 580 for ONLY 1080p Gaming.

1- since it is ONLY going to be 1080p Gaming, for the next 2 years should i get 4Gb or 8Gb, i know the 8Gb is 100% safe but any thoughts about 4Gb will be enough or not ?

2- i have noticed an important price ( between 205-225€) drop in some rx 570 and rx 580 8Gb versions, they look cheap of course but are they weak in a point that i should avoid them ?
-- MSI RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC ( the normal white/black version not the Mk2 ) SCREEN
-- Asrock RX 570D Phantom Gaming 8GB DOC ( not the phantom gaming X ) SCREEN
-- XFX RX 570 RS Black Edition 8GB
-- PowerColor RX 580 Red Dragon V2 8GB

i know these are not Asus strix or the other fancy version , but they are priced very cheap for 8Gb compared to the rest, like -35€

3- if none of these cards are good enough, i will get a Nitro+ / Pulse / Asus rx 570/580 4Gb card priced at 180-200€.

any thoughts ?

Go for the PowerColor RX 580 Red Dragon V2 8GB, even if its from a 2nd trademark it its still a better option than any other card on the list and its probably the best card you can get with that budget.

Greetings!

Looking forward for an upgrade for my old system. Playing only MMORPG (Black Desert Online) atm. Not planning to play anything else. Options are:

1) https://www.amazon.com/Strix-Radeon-Gaming-Graphics-ROG-STRIX-RX570-O4G-GAMING/dp/B06Y5WGXX3/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524775078&sr=8-3&keywords=rx+570+4gb&dpID=51NgSy--IUL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch (364$ atm)
2) https://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-Graphic-AXRX580-8GBD5-3DHG-OC/dp/B06ZZCV9SY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1524775120&sr=8-2&keywords=red+devil+rx+580 (436$ atm)

My system:
i5 3570 non-K(will upgrade for i7 3770 later)
16gb ddr3 ram
MSI Armor R9 380 2GB
450w Seasonic Gold PSU
Monitor: http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-22MP68VQ-P

Question: My monitor is 75hz only. Is it worth spending extra 70$ on 8gb RX 580 or 4gb RX 570 will be more than enough for 1080p @ 75hz? I am concerned about my PSU as well since RX 580 suppose to be more power hungry.

With Black Desert Online, the 570 will do just fine. It will do well even in AAA titles, if you can give up on some quality.
