Hello,

I'm thinking of either getting a r9 380 or the yet unannounced rx 470 (maybe it will announced soon). The thing is that the rx 480 is out of my price range and I have found an xfx r9 380 for £127, which is quite cheap, considering other r9 380 are £150+.

Hi! I'm building a pc today! Prices are funny in my country!
Rx 470 = 280$~
R9 380 = 280$~
Gtx 1060 = 417$~
Gtc 1070= 730$~
The budget has almost enough for gtx1060 if I buy an 120gb ssd instead of 250gb
There's gtx 960 but I don't think it's a good choice!

Which one would you buy?

I have a FX 6300 Black Edition CPU and I'm thinking about buying R9 380 MSI 4GB version or the RX470 GPU
I had an R9 270X and it died so I need a replacement
I game on 1080p
Is my configuration with either of these two graphics going to work 100%, like is there gonna be bottlenecks, if so, is it going to be game breaking or noticeable?

I have an FX-6300 based system that I'll eventually turn into a HTPC for gaming and streaming. I have two GPUs on hand I could use for this project, either an RX 470 or R9 380. Both are 4GB.

I'm leaning toward the 470 but don't want to put something in the system the CPU can't take full advantage of (bottleneck). In the past I know this FX-6300 is capable of 4.4Ghz, which may or may not mitigate any bottleneck, not sure.

I also have an FX-8320e I could swap in for the FX-6300 but to be honest I don't quite feel like it

Your CPU will bottleneck both cards. FX 8320E would not be an improvement in gaming or general display capabilities as more cores doesn't mean faster performance. More cores means more multitasking. Single core performance is what matters for videos and games. FX has terrible single core performance.

RX 470 will use less power and likely run quieter.
